Bobby Cremins to join Atlanta Hall of Fame
ATLANTA--Former Georgia Tech basketball coach Bobby Cremins will be inducted into the Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2006.
The Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on Friday, June 9 at the Westin Buckhead Atlanta.
Joining Cremins in the Class of 2006 are heavyweight boxing champion Evander Holyfield, former Atlanta Braves great Phil Niekro, Olympic gold medalist Wyomia Tyus, Negro League baseball standout James "Red" Moore, and legendary Atlanta Journal-Constitution sportswriter Furman Bisher.
Cremins, the architect of the Tech basketball program in 19 seasons (1981-2000) as head coach, enters the Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame as part of its second class. Legendary football coach Bobby Dodd and golfing great Bobby Jones represented Georgia Tech in the inaugural class of 2005.
