Well the Jackets were taken down in the 1st round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday to the Runnin Rebels of UNLV 67-63. This ends a remarkable turnaround season for Georgia Tech, who finished the season at 20-12, and had wins over tournament teams Boston College, Duke, Purdue, and sweet 16 teams North Carolina and Memphis. The Jackets dealt with some adversity this season losing leading scorer at the time, Lewis Clinch to a violation of the school code honor. Freshmen sensations Thaddeus Young, and Javaris Crittenton lived up to the hype. In the end the Yellow Jackets youth was the difference. Now comes a brutal off season for us as we have to wait for the decision of Javaris and Thaddeus about whether they will test the NBA waters. NBA rules allow a college player to test the NBA as long as an agent is not hired. I really dont know what to think about our chances of having both guys back next season, but i do believe we should get at least one of them back. I mean how many guys leave the same team for the NBA in one season? I know last season Texas had it with Daniel Gibson and Lamarcus Aldridge. Can you blame the kids?? I say no. How can you blame a guy looking to take care of his family. In Javaris' case, his mother just told him that his grandmother is sick, and according to Javaris, that is a "Major" part of his decision. If his grandmother's health improves, then i look for Javaris to be back, but if not, then he could leave. Thaddeus Young on the other hand could be gone. He is projected by almost everyone to be a sure thing lottery pick. Although Thaddeus has said he will ask his father for advice, he just seems like a long term guy for us. He has good grades, and GT was important because of the education. I have no idea what these two young superstars will do, but whatever it is, i wish them well. Mario West has played his last game as a Yellow Jacket, and what a story he was a part of. This guy played in 3 NCAA Tournaments, including our 2004 NCAA Run to the Championship game. Mario West is one of my favorite players in Tech history, and we will all miss his defense and heart. Thank you Mario for your hard work. I'll have more updates on the Thaddeus Young situation, as i keep in touch with him via email..........Next season should be another NCAA Tournament season for us, as we welcome in McDonalds All-American Gani Lawal, along with Memphis product Maurice Miller, and Matt Causey a transfer guard. We also will be welcoming Brad Sheehan, the center from New York who redshirted next season. We dont lose much, but we will be getting alot of help. If the two studs come back next season, we could be looking at a National Title. Until then....GO JACKETS!!

JACKETS PLAY THEMSELVES INTO THE NCAA TOURNAMENT; CRITTENTON 3rd TEAM ALL-ACC
Well it's been a while since the page was updated as i have been very busy. Not only does Georgia Tech rise from the dead and defeat North Carolina 84-77, but they come back home 3 days later and defeat Boston College in convincing fashion. At 20-10, looks like our Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will be playing in the big dance.............................Some interesting news....including a great article on Thaddeus Young on why he should come back to Georgia Tech, at least for 2 more years......................and Javaris Crittenton making the All-ACC third team, and possibly winning the Rookie of the Year Award....................Good Job Javaris!!!!....Just add him to the list if that happens...........More news soon, Go Jackets!!!
